In 2007, my wife Daphne and I travelled to Antarctica on the Polar Star. Before heading south, we spent time in Tierra del Fuego and dived in the Beagle Channel.
Travelling on a relatively small expedition ship brought us close to the landscape. We visited Brown Bluff, Paulet Island, Snow Hill Island, Devil Island, Half Moon Island, Deception Island, Port Lockroy and Paradise Bay.
What remains strongest is the feeling of moving through the region day by day by ship and Zodiac, watching the landscape change with the light and weather.
